another thursday in paradise

Today was the day. The day I would take one more step to conquering a fear. This fear: my fear of heights. I was mentally prepared to jump off the rock at Waimea Bay. Only, after getting there, we were met by signs surrounding the rock advising everyone to stay off. I guess we should have checked the surf report before? It really didn't look THAT bad. Crazy fools. Ruining my life goals. So rude.

Here is a lovely depiction of the famous rock:

Doesn't look like much, does it? Baby steps! Although, I may just go skydiving first and get it over with... once I have money to pay for it.

So instead of jumping off the rock we swam in the ocean for a while and I was successful in getting a TON of sand all throughout my swimsuit. When I came home to rinse off I literally dumped sand everywhere. It was wild. I really don't know how it happened.

After our swim, we decided (because we were already so close) to go get our favorite smoothies and Lanikai Juice. So delicious, puts Jamba to shame. I got the same thing I always get-- the Coco Champ. Pretty much a pina colada with protein. Yum.

Kaitlyn and I were feeling energetic post smoothie so we decided another bike ride/ longboard session was in order. And aside from my imminent fear of falling off the board, I was able to stand on the long board and make some turns! I was going quite slow, but again, BABY STEPS.

After we had met up with Pedro and Abigail, the whole crew came back to the JAM house and we watched this little gem:

Ever seen it? HOT ROD. I loved it. It was filled with my family's humor. It also reminded me a lot of my friends back home! Such dears. Miss them all very much.

As the night was ending, I had one more surprise. My roommate Shalah took a fall on her bike and needed to go to the hospital (at midnight). Poor thing only suffered from some really deep bad bruises but nothing is broken! (:

Once I finally got to sleep, I was able to dream about going to the Lord's house in the morning. How lucky am I to live down the block from this view?

I feel very blessed.

xx
